Cationic polyacrylamide has better acid resistance and is suitable for treating acidic wastewater. In an acidic environment, cationic polyacrylamide can provide positively charged groups to form stable flocs with suspended solids in negatively charged wastewater. In addition, the higher molecular weight of cationic polyacrylamide gives it better stability under acidic conditions.

Nonionic polyacrylamide has excellent acid resistance and is suitable for treating highly acidic and highly concentrated wastewater. In an acidic environment, nonionic polyacrylamide does not carry any electrical groups, so its stability is higher. In addition, the higher molecular weight of nonionic polyacrylamide improves its solubility and stability under acidic conditions.
In different acidic environments, we need to choose the appropriate polyacrylamide. When dealing with acidic wastewater, we need to choose cationic polyacrylamide or nonionic polyacrylamide with better acid resistance.
