Applications of
Polyacrylamide in Industrial Wastewater Treatment: Steel Mills: Circulating water treatment, sludge dewatering Products used:
Anionic polyacrylamide (12 million molecular weight),
cationic polyacrylamide (2‰—4‰) Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants: Primarily used for municipal sludge dewatering and activated sludge treatment: generally uses medium to high charge, medium molecular weight cationic polyacrylamide. Digested sludge treatment: generally uses high charge cationic polyacrylamide (1‰—2‰). Coal Washing Wastewater: Coal slime sedimentation, slag sedimentation, coal powder concentration and filtration (2‰). Leather Industry Wastewater Treatment: Pre-treatment of depilatory sulfur-containing wastewater, grease-containing wastewater recovery, chromium-containing wastewater recovery, and comprehensive leather wastewater treatment, commonly using coagulation sedimentation or coagulation flotation machines. Products used: Anionic polyacrylamide (12 million molecular weight), amphoteric polyacrylamide, and cationic polyacrylamide. Wastewater Treatment in the Beer and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) Industries: Beer wastewater mainly contains sugars and alcohols, and has a relatively high concentration of organic matter. Beer wastewater is highly biodegradable and is usually treated using aerobic and anaerobic biological treatment processes. MSG production mainly uses starch hydrolysate as the raw material and employs a fermentation process. Three types of wastewater with different concentrations are generated during the production process: 1. High-concentration wastewater comes from the glutamic acid extraction mother liquor; 2. Medium-concentration wastewater mainly consists of washing water from storage tanks in various production processes and acid-base waste liquids; 3. Low-concentration wastewater mainly consists of cooling water that has been repeatedly used after evaporation and crystallization during the production process. Products used: Anionic and cationic polymers. Textile and Dyeing Industry Wastewater Treatment: The wastewater mainly contains dirt and grease from textile fibers, salts, and various sizing agents, dyes, surfactants, auxiliaries, acids, and bases added during the processing. The wastewater is characterized by high organic matter concentration, complex composition, deep and variable color, fluctuating pH, and large variations in water volume and quality. Products used:
Nonionic and cationic polymers.

Pharmaceutical Industry: Used in fermentation processes. Products used: Cationic polymers (1‰—2‰) Coating Industry: Used as thickeners and viscosity modifiers. Products used: Nonionic and anionic polymers (2‰) Bridge Construction Industry: Used for drilling mud conditioning. Products used: Medium to high molecular weight anionic polymers (3‰) Meat Processing: Used for wastewater treatment. Products used: Anionic polymers (15 million molecular weight), cationic polymers for heavy metal and hydroxide treatment. Polyacrylamide is a linear polymer compound with functional groups capable of adsorbing fine particles. Like a long rope, it adsorbs particles together, forming flocculent aggregates. The long carbon chains of polyacrylamide act as bridges between the particles. In recent years, it has been widely used as a polymer flocculant in environmental protection. It can be widely applied in various industrial wastewater treatments, including petrochemicals, oilfield wastewater, meat processing wastewater, leather industry wastewater, brewery wastewater, MSG industry wastewater, textile printing and dyeing wastewater, food industry wastewater, electroplating wastewater, printed circuit board wastewater, sugar industry wastewater, circulating cooling water treatment, papermaking wastewater, and municipal sewage treatment, etc.
