When treated solely using the aerobic activated sludge process, the volumetric load is relatively high, resulting in a large amount of sludge with poor sedimentation characteristics that are difficult to dewater during operation, increasing energy consumption and treatment costs. In comparison, anaerobic treatment units and various structural forms of treatment units have relatively lower volumetric loads, and the sludge is easy to dewater. This not only achieves good treatment results but also results in relatively lower operating costs.
